Hi..the Dizzy seal is leaking again on our 98 Coily,it has been done twice by Mechanics(for Rego)in the 10 years we have had the car. I will do it myself this time but was wondering what is the best sealant to use,i usually use Silastic Gasket on my other cars but not sure what the mechanics have used in the past....TIA.

Id wager the mechs just used a generic o ring. If you want it to last maybe try a genuine part. That being said if you dont drive the car often the seal will dry out and perish. Its the same with rear mains, axle seals ect... you tend to change them more often when they sit idle than with daily use

Before you take that thing apart clean it thoroughly and determine exactly where the leak is - there is an O-ring where the distributor mount attaches to the head, an O-ring where the distributor slides into the mount, and a garter style seal inside the distributor.
