Anyone got a new Jimny with the K15 engine? What can you share with me about it - what's good, what's not so good and of course, what's downright terrible.
It looks like my wife & daughter are dead keen on a new Jimny, we looked at a basic spec. black one with automatic transmission today, the manual transmission and full spec models are due before the end of December.
I was surprised to see a K15 under the hood, as I was expecting an M15, I was alarmed to see "All Grip" on the tail gate, but it has a 2H/4H/4L stubby shifter and appears to have a conventional transfer case, so far I'm think I'm OK with it.

We took delivery of a jungle green Jimny last Saturday, base spec., with manual transmission, because this market doesn't get the manual transmission with the fully loaded spec. - getting a manual transmission meant giving up the touch screen audio & LED headlights (which I would have liked), the base spec. audio has hands free blue tooth, and we do have power windows, central locking, air bags, ABS, hill descent & traction control, I'm not certain if the full spec. here includes the driver assist features (lane departure warning, etc.,) which I'm happy not to have.
All that's been done to it so far is tint & vent visors (and Missy got it stuck in a mud hole because have 4WD, will find mud to drive in) - stock tires are a Dunlop highway tread in a 195/80R15 - I'm waiting for the dealer to get back to me on how OME and a larger tire will impact my warranty.
This is actually the first of the fourth gen Jimnys here, so there are lot of curious stares & gawking at what, because of the color, appears to be some sort of tiny Land Rover.
