Hi all, Have a 2000 J20 Vitara with oil light coming on when hot. Found location of switch at rear of A/C compressor but no switch, blanked of with allen head plug,
very tight to undo to fit master gauge for checking. Is the oil pressure readable with scan tool?

Hello again, Since my last post, I found a good Suzuki service manual and discovered that the oil pressure sensor is behind the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Fitted the master gauge and resulted in satisfactory oil pressure readings of
65psi @ idle COLD engine 35psi @ idle HOT engine 70PSI @ Hi idle HOT engine
If it's not already clear to you, the switch is defective and needs to be replaced.
Please also note that you can find the Suzuki specified oil pressures in the manual, and they are not as you reported - Suzuki specifies pressure at one rpm point only and it's not idle.
