I did see that this had been talked about before but that was five years ago and I didn't find it super clear.
I have a 1995 LWB Vitara with an EFI G16b in it currently... It's buggered... Blows smoke, knocks, has metal all through the oil.
No one seems to have any G16b engines out of a Vitara, and if they do, they're also toast.
Swapping in a G16b from a Baleno seems like the best way to go, because they're cheaper and easier to find in good nick.
What I'm after is a COMPLETE list of everything I would need to swap the engine into my Vitara.
The Baleno engine is a long block and has a coil pack.

I don't want to rebuild my original motor and I'd appreciate relevant and helpful responses to the post, thanks!

Basically you'll refit everything from the Vitara onto the Baleno - the block/rotating assembly and head will be the only things that are Baleno.

The slight complication is you'll need to fit the camshaft from the vitara engine to the baleno head, as it has the gear to suit the right angle distributor drive in the vitara. It might be tempting to swap the vitara head onto the baleno bottom end to avoid this step, but I'd do anything to avoid splitting open a known good engine.
