I bought this 97 SWB Vitara last week. I would like to upgrade the fibreglass canopy to something that fits as the one on it is a cheap paper thin unit and doesn't fit or seal properly and the when you close the rear door with the struts attached it buckles the door its so thin.
To order one from overseas/US or Canada I need to make sure I'm ordering the right one as they appear to not of had the 2L version.
Will a 1.6L Tracker be an exact comparison to this 2L Vitara?

Most people I've spoken to about the fibreglass tops aren't happy with them they squeak and rattle like buggery, if it was me I'd go the canvas option

Agreed Joe. The only hardtop I've ever liked was the suzuki optional top for the Sierra. It didn't rattle, squeak or leak. Everything else I've seen has been terrible.

Nice car Stocky!!.
Might get a bit complicated to remount the roof rack / rails arrangement to another top. Is there a possibility of getting that one reworked / strengthened, maybe by a boat builder with experience of how fiberglass behaves while under load & subjected to vibrations to minimize the issues of rattle, squeak & leak (like that little word string).
Rgs, Michael

I have one on my 94 swb. made by Pro-Top out of canada. I was really happy with it. sealed great, never leaked, was pretty quiet... well a lot quieter than the factory soft top, was also better than the soft top at keeping the dust out. it is the same as this one.

I cant find Pro-Top out of Canada but yours is simular to the current one I had except mine is a made in china paper thin version but it came with the car. 3xm Australia appear to make one but its a bit weird in the way it covers the roof in two pieces
