| Post subject: | Suspension squeak |
Just need some help/advice/suggestions Have had my jimny for a while now and immediately after I got a dobinsons 2" lift (just shocks and springs no panhards/castor/brake lines) fitted there has been a squeak from the rear right over bumps that make the suspension compress quickly. When it compresses slowly it doesn't make the squeak. I gave it back straight away and they sprayed some lubricant into the shocks themselves telling me it was the shock seals and that all new ones squeak and are designed to leak and lube themselves. I felt a bit dubious about that theory. The squeak was still there When I start driving it doesnt make it for about 5 minutes then starts quiet and then builds in volume and frequency to the point it sounds like a colony of small birds live in my rear suspension. I took it back to installer said the rear squeaked so they decided to grease the front bushes and call it a fix. 5 minutes down the road there it was. I greased the rear shock bushes myself (with blue heavy duty bearing grease as thats all I had) and that did nothing. Lubed all the rubber bushes in the trailing arms and panhard bushes with rubber lubricant and made no difference. It drives me absolutely mad and Ive done everything in my knowledge to fix it so I thought someone on here might have had a similar issue and know the problem and solution PLEASE HELP! |

It could be the new springs in the perches. Check to see they are seated properly. Give them a squirt of lubricant. |
