Afternoon and good evening and hello to all the AZ masters.. Unfortunately the little V6 in the GV isn't looking to healthy... Front passenger side top of motor, on the inlet side of the heads, I'd say in general location of Rocker cover seems to have an intermittent coolant leek. Only happens when driving with excitement and a heavy foot. Uses a tiny bit of coolant but not much over a 100km distance, maybe 50mls. System holds pereesure at idle?- quickly removing radiator cap causes a slight coolant spray from mentioned general location... Have checked and checked again and again.... No oil in coolant, no coolant in oil. No bubbles in the radiator. Mileage and performance is currently great.. Possibly one of the AZ gurus may suggest potential or possible cause.... Reason I'm in two minds about dropping it at the mechanics... A. Suzuki mechanics in Adelaide are thin on the ground B. The Suzuki wrecker in SA has quoted $3250 to do an engine swap with a 10200km old engine. C. Sometime in the next 6 month due to hand the GV down to P plater and upgrade to a new car. Would appreciate any constructive thoughts... I'm guessing head gasket or similar, but can't understand why there is no coolant oil mix or why the system holds pressure... Thanks in advance |

Low km motor swap sounds like a decent price That be my choice, old motor gives you a heap of spares for bargain p plater budget fixes down the track |

If it's the Suzuki wrecker at Holden Hill, just don't. I wouldn't trust them to work on a push bike. |

heres a good story about our Holden Hill wrecker friend. A few years ago when I finally decided to swap the Jimny motor for a g16b I went up there and got some prices. They had two on the shelf that sounded reasonable. Both from Balenos, one with 90,000km for $1250 and the other with 128,000km for $1000. I chose the lower k one, paid for it and they helped me get it on the trailer. The I noticed on the top of the timing belt cover a small sticker with some printed Japanese characters with handwritten numbers "122,000". My guess, a timing belt replacement at those KM from in a Japanese workshop. Despite their best attempts to convince me it came from an Aussie wreck with 90kkm I gave it back and bought the 128kkm one with a small refund. I needed to use them a couple of times again, to get a starter motor for the motor swap and later a replacement diff for the Jimny, which were OK. and a 5.12 diff for the GV which lasted 50km. |

Here's hoping Gus... Spannering this weekend... Looks to be coming from deep in the V.. If you get it hot enough sprays a nice little stream straight up.. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am about to possibly buy an old 2000 GV H25a with what sounds like a similar issue. A small tube that runs into the V appears to be the source, it is being fixed as we speak. What was the outcome of your situation gregwatkins75? |
