Putting a Vitara G16b in a Sierra for a friend. Just gathering up the parts to see what I need. It had this G16a in it, he reckoned the diff *might* have touched the sump but it looks dent/scrape free to me. The motor came out of a comp truck before he had it. It's certainly very different to the sump on the G16b. Also it has no fan/hub, does the 1.3l fan go straight on?

Yes, but if you have the vit clutch fan, use it.....

Yeah, would certainly use the clutch fan if we had one. Anyway, we've got bigger problems than that now. He bought this motor and loom about 2 years ago. Dodgy bastards just cut the loom instead of undoing the half a dozen easy to get to plugs. Problem is this is the motor end of the loom. And this is the cut in the main loom that came with it. Argggggg I really don't want to go back to pinouts if we don't even know if this loom belongs to this motor. He's talking about picking up a swift 1.3l carby engine (because Sierra ones are seem to be extinct) and swapping the bits to make it work. He just wants it back on the road right now.

Yeah my thoughts too. Has to be from a different motor. It doesn't match up to this motor at all. The only thing that matches is the AFM but that could have just come from the same vehicle the loom did.
That cut could be for lights or whatever for all I know, there's still not enough wires to go around.

From a quick glance at a wiring diagram, I think that second lot is part of the horn, washer, indicator, headlight loom etc that goes out the side.
