Hi all, I haven't been around much lately. Too busy getting ready to move house and diff lock paperwork. Recently I have completed, along with a mate of mine named Nick, the testing of the Grand Vitara full floaters with disc brakes. The package has been thoroughly tested in all sorts of conditions, all sorts of vehicle loads and also with the ABS disabled. I'm happy to say, after some fine tuning, that the system is working far better than expected. The brake performance really does make the standard items look like rubbish. With the ABS disabled the vehicle still brakes without being tail happy. One of the great benefits is that a GV only needs to carry one spare bearing hub which will suit all corners. A heap of work has gone into this new system and It's now ready to go. I have also designed a system for those who don't want the full float axles but just the caliper mounts. The same system is also available for Sierra and Jimny. The only difference is the Sierra and Jimny use Pintara calipers. All disc brake kits (non floater) come with everything except the bundy tubing. This needs to be cut and flared by the owner. All handbrake brackets and rubber line is included from now on.

Ok sweet if the short one ends up with a 2.7 big block I reckon ill need to upgrade axels but for the 2l I think the stockers will be fine

Looks awesome and very tempting after my axle shenanigans of late. But what is the reasoning in using a VW Passat caliper, over a Mazda 3 rear for example? (or something more common/less euro)

I should have phrased that better. No rotors and calipers. On the GV and Jimny studs are not required and no hubs as the kit mentioned (non full float) requires no hub. I chose the VW caliper (GV only) for the size, offset and handbrake system. These calipers are more common than you think and are used on other models than Passat (early Golf for example). Non float disc conversion. All kits have provision for a handbrake. GV $300 Vitara Estate $360 (includes wheel adapter) Jimny $320 Sierra $380 (includes wheel adapter)

And what disc do you use? Do you have a list of models that the calipers came off so it is easy to search?
I had some difficulty getting all the parts needed for the Sierra kit and the price racked up so I'd rather know exactly what is required first this time.
Lastly, do you have GV floater prices and what else is required for install?

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=46064&hilit=gV+full+floatI have the full float kit and will be putting a full write up on this link. It will have everything, my prices and part numbers as I go. It has gone on hold for a week or two due to a lack of timing chain staying where it should issues but once I have another motor in and I have hidden the rest of the costs from the wife I will update the link. For the Jimny Full Float Kit (1999 non ABS) Can you confirm: 1. Pintara WAGON calipers (can we get confirmation that the pintara wagon calipers are the same as a R31 skyline gt and GTR?) ( I am still waiting on your confirmation to send me the handbrake brackets I will PM you my address again) 2. Grand Vitara FRONT solid rotors (to go on rear of Jimny) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAIR-FRONT-B ... 258620140c3. Non ABS Grand Vitara Hub http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hub-Wheel-Be ... 35c75e6dccor I could also just buy a complete NON ABS front hub and stub assembly from a wrecked Grand Vitara?? 4. A GQ rear brake line set?? or the brake lines are just to be made up by a professional once it is all installed? Also for your Jimny front axle Upgrade 1. Also a pair of FRONT NON ABS grand vitara hub and stub assembly with solid rotors (Same as what is going on the rear) - does that mean that I will be using the calipers off the GV for the front? or do I keep the JImny rotors and calipers? 2. Can you confirm these are the correct CV for the 25/26 spline conversion http://wheelersoffroad.com/product/empi ... -cv-joint/3. I need a set or Jimny rear Side gears to go in the front (26 spline) OR a set of ARB gears if I am going to lock the front Or please detail what is needed if I am to put one of your CAP lockers in the front. Apart from these things listed is there anything else additional new/used parts needed for either the rear FF or front axle upgrade on a Jimny?
