Stock clutch is fine It works fine behind the 1.3, and up to a 1.6 efi. More gearing means you dont need a HD clutch Bigger tyres and stock gearing, means you may need more clutch slippage, more clamping force here isnt really helpful. HD clutch can cause clutch cable issues etc. Costs more, and not needed. I was dumb enough to buy one early on, ran it for a while and got rid of it. I didnt have too many cable issues, but the pedal force was too much for the missus. I went back to stock, prior to switching to auto. |

Do not get the hd I've had one for 5 years broken4 cables bent and cracked a clutch peddle and I just found cracks in my firewall so don't get one, standard is what everyone else runs |

Dunno what clutches you guys have had because I have a new Exedy HD Sports Tuff clutch in my 99 Jimny and love it. The pedal is waaaay lighter than stock and bites really nicely. I wouldn't have any other clutch! I am also running 215/75/15 mud tyres too. Ray |

I run a wrecked jimny clutch in mine (i'm on the 2nd wrecked jimny one now) i think it's from the M series engine ones (they have different splines between models and only 1 matches sierra). Anyway - that jimny clutch is the same clamping pressure as a sierra HD exedy clutch. And exedy list the same part numbers for replacements for Jimny & Sierra - so anyone buying a standard duty exedy for their jimny will have LESS pressure than their factory clutch had. I've only snapped one clutch cable in the time i've owned my zuk, and it was the original factory one, and it failed at the end-bit that hooks onto the pedal (it wore through). I think snapped cables are due to the cables not being lubricated or being overtightened. |

Correct gearing. Standard clutch. No dramas. |
