No and no, in short You will have contact between the tyre and the bumper outriggers, and the guards. It's not hard to overcome, but they don't clear a standard car. No, 30's are 4" taller than the standard tyres, so no, they aren't legal. There is a proviso to this though. If you have a "commercial" model with 16" rims specifically mentioned on the tyre placard, you might be ok on a 30" tyre as the 6.50 16's fitted to these models are 28" tall. |

^^ What he said. If you're going over the pits keep it stock as a rock and fit your 30s later. The pits will pick on EVERYTHING, so don't give them ammunition. When i went over the pits with mine they made me tighten a wheel bearing that had about 1mm of play in it on a 31" tyre. Sure, it needed snugging up, but they wrote that it needed immediate replacing with a new bearing. They're brutal. They also wrote me up to fix "Holes in the floor" - as i had my floor bungs out and sitting to the side of the holes under my floor mats. I offered to pop the bungs back in right infront of the guy and he refused to allow it, and wrote it up. I put them back in while he was pacing around the rest of the car. They also check any movement in your seat mechanisms and that all the adjustments work... |
