Nope... Some guys put their rim back on and bash the tire with a rubber mallet. Or if you've got one, a slide hammer

If you dont have a slide hammer, get 2 foot of chain, put either end on a axle bolt and do the nuts up tight, tape up the handle of you sledge hammer directly below the head to protect it, then insert the sledgy into the chain.. you want to swing it so you are striking the chain with the taped section..

there are various ways to do this,
some people just have one end on the axle bolt and the other looped and bolted off to the hammer shaft

Once I had to put a chain onto it and put the other end onto my shed with a hi-lift (like hi-lift winching)

I had one of them recently.
Day and a half of swearing/tool making/chain breaking etc.
Now I reassemble with a clean up and a smear of antiseize paste.

I always had one side which was difficult.
doing rear wheel bearings every 3-6 months wasn't pleasant.

Usually used the wheel as a slide hammer.
Had to use chain and hammer once, except found the chain wouldnt allow a crisp strike of force.
I had to resort to bolting on a junk rim and belting the rim from underneath the car with a sledge hammer.
When it eventually came free (worst one) the outer race was cracked around its circumference.

Then I made myself a slide hammer.
Used it once then went to full floater, rear wheel bearings suck

Any one reading the different methods, here's mine.

Brake drum put back on the on the wrong way, hi lift between the chassis and the brake drum.
Jack it out.

No other tools required and easier than the chain and sedgy.

^^ what Ozzycouch said yet i slid mine like a slide hammer, the weight of the drum makes removing the axle a piece of cake. Belive me i cursed when i had to replace the diff centre. The drum method took 3 slides of it and the axle slid out. Just have to make sure its even so you dont damage the bolt threads.
