Hey all, I have a few questions. Hopefully someone can help!

So I'll start with my transfer case question:
When I engage L4 is seems to pop out of it shortly after moving off. Holding the 4x4 gear stick in gear keeps it in gear thoigh. So my first thought is that because of my 2" body lift, the transfer case gear stick is hitting the edge of the gear stick hole and not fully engaging and holding itself in place. Could this be the case and if so how do you resolve this? Lifting the transfer case some how? Chopping the gear stick hole a little bigger? Or maybe is it the gear lever bushing that's shot and not holding it in place? Thinking the BL has somthing to do with it though.

Okay, number 2- rear shoes:
A while ago I bought new rear shoes from 4wdProducts on eBay. Never had a problem with them, always 100% satisfied.
Though when I installed the shoes they seemed to be the wrong size. So to have rear brakes while driving around I need the hand brake to be half way up. So when I push the brake peddle the shoes make contact, other wise I only have front brakes. (And it doesn't hold at all as a handbrake...) So could this just be the case that I have ordered/ revived the wrong shoes? And if so. Can anyone 100% confirm me brake shoes for a 1996 leaf sprung, SJ70 Soft top Sierra?
I talked to my local brake shop and they had a look and said they need to measure it up and order the right parts. So I'll have to leave it over night and it'll certainly be a lot more money as labour isn't cheap. Trying to avoid this.

And finally, extending brake lines:
I'm about to instal my 50mm lifted springs and wanted to know if I'll have to extend brake lines. Expecting that I may, so if so. How much longer do you get it extended? And would you recommend spending a bit more money for the braided lines or should the standard material be fine? Maybe getting a spring put over the lines?

Sorry for all the questions. Kinda been building them up till now when I need to find out!! Inwill almost certainly have more!

Thanks!
Thomas.

1 - Lift the boot off and stick it in 4L, if it hits the metal body you can cut/bend a bit out it. Or heat up the stick and bend it. ;)

Regarding question one,
I'd take the opportunity to raise the transfer case.
Personally I think anyone with a body lift that doesnt lift there case on a sierra is mad, its a great mod to do

Hey pezz. How do I go about lifting the case? Are there lift kits for the transfer or do I have to make somthing up?
Any recommendations to products to lift the case?

50mm SHS and stock mounts works, just_cruzin does a kit as well.

If your not changing your shocks, the brake lines should be fine

I am extending the shocks. They are suited to a 2-3"lift

Id say fit it up and test flex it to see if they are required.
if they are, just put your old shocks on untill you get the longer lines
