I have a 79 LJ80 with a buggered tailshaft.
The shaft is the one with the pressed and staked in unis and one has failed and flogged out one of the holes in the rear yoke.

I can see two options :-)
Get a replacement or fix it.

I'm new to the Suzuki scene so please forgive my ignorance.
So with the replacement - What other zooks run the same or interchangeable shaft?
LJ81 Stockman? Early1L Sierrias?

As for a repair, I could weld up the worn area and dress it up with a Dremel. Too Agricultural? ;-)

Cheers,
Brett

LJ81 is a long wheelbase, so the rear shaft is too long for the LJ80.

The LJ80 Stockman has the replaceable uni shafts you need.

I've found E-Bay Germany to be a great source of LJ Stockman stuff, as they only ever got the LJ80-II (aka Stockman). Look for a seller who ships to: Worldwide (Versand Nach: Weltweit).

Brush up on your German, or get used to Babelfish.

Rear Driveshaft translates to "Hinten Antriebswelle". EG: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Suzuki-LJ-80-LJ8 ... 566168fc4c

Or just go to the Ebay.de home page and search "LJ80" and look at the pictures!

if its the short end of the shaft i believe you can use a 1 litre one and just slide it onto the spline.

lj50 rear ones work too.

I've done this. The dots line up and everything.

Thanks for the great info guys.
Unfortunately its the long(diff) end.

I will scour the wreckers on the weekend and see what I can scratch up.
If I don't have any luck, I will have to take night classes in German :-)

Cheers,
Brett
