| Post subject: | Help me choose my new zook. |
Hey guys, Im getting back in the Suzuki world after a year out. I sold my vitara last year due to a relationship break up which left me in financial hardship. Now, I am back in front and looking at buying another vitara. However, I am not wanting to go back to an SE. I am just stuck on which vitara I want. Preferably, a 2000+ model would be ideal but I still need it to be as capable as an SE. my plans are: Auto 31" mud tires Reduction gears/ Ring and pinion Front airlocker Stronger CV's (I see BenT has hilux cv kits) Calmini lift kit (was quite good on the SE) Steel diff This build will be the same as my last except with a bigger motor I just want to confirm that both the SV and the SQ vitara will suit my needs. pros and cons of both. I have researched and researched so much I am at an overload. hopefully, an experienced member could help out. |

i don't see a wagon R+ on a sierra chassis on that list? sv620 auto, gv's look like jellybeans and are only good for the steel diffs & h25a's |

Haha your always good for a laugh Atari. Yeah leaning towards the SV but the h25a is tempting, plus the h27a bolts in aswell I believe |

they'll both also swap into a sv620, but it's an epic job to do it to a sv420. |

SV ++++ best looking of the vitara shape, lots of after market support, as Gus said H25 & H27 will bolt in... --- getting harder to find good ones with low km now SQ ++++ lots of after market support, H25 standed (H27 in XL7), modern interior very comfortable to drive... --- looks like a jelly bean |

Is there a massive difference in ride comfort between the SV and the SQ? Is the SV just an SE vitara with a J20A engine and a nicer shape? |

I can't comment on ride comfort between the two I haven't driven a SV for a few years The SV chassis is wider then a SE so I'd say the SV would handle better too |

they all ride the pretty much the same, choppy... just the jlx trim on the SV's is more solid than the SE's & feel a little less tinny. so many small differences when you compare the 2 side by side it's like chalk n cheese. the SV is like the coily of the sierra/jimny world, last of an era but without the gay bits like a SJ80 got & the good bits from the GV. i've been pimping this thing out to a few heads, looks pretty tidy to me & i'm happy to check it out if you're willing to travel ant? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/seaford/ ... 1056323868 |

Tidy, Auto and reasonably priced but at I am waiting until November to buy my next one Next question, I the H20A worth the extra few hundred a year in rego compared to the 4 cylinder versions? |

nope, but being able to bolt in the h27a without having to change the engine/front body loom makes it worth while & they do ride a heap better being a longy. i do miss being able to whip a u-turn anywhere & the maneuverability, but the blagon it climbs so much nicer. it's been on & off the market for a while, these things don't move that quick down here... some of the other ones in SA have been up for 6+months. |

Well, you are quite the salesman Gus. Quite the salesman indeed. So if I was too buy an SV620 and get 31's after it...am I right in saying a 5.12 R&P should get it close to factory gearing? Or am I full of shit as usual? Im kind of hoping it is still for sale when I decide to buy, I have a heap of holidays saved at work and a road trip would be a good way to use them |

the auto v6 has 4.8's & it's still slightly under-geared with 31's & 5.1's, my swb was 4.6 & stepping up to 5.1's & 31's it was spot on. oh they're also got the 26 spline front diff out of the box. |

So many decisions...they are a good looking vitara, bigger motor and same after market parts available. Im waiting hear in BenTs hilux cv kit fits the sv's. Will find out in the next couple weeks. Safe to say the SQ is off the list for sure |

Why is the SQ off the list already? I know it sure isnt pretty but you have the option of the 4 cylinder in the long wheel base plus the bonus of them being more common - more options to buy and more parts floating around. Joe's point of ride comfort and modern interior has gotta be a good point as well. Im having the dilemma between keeping my SE or going J20 GV at the moment.. |

because jellybean, i look at it this way... it's not a real suzuki 4wd as it doesn't have the traditional clam shell bonnet, they even reverted back to it in the NGV. |

okay okay.. It is only a 10kw difference between J20 and H25 though isnt it? And it seems like a good base to turbo Have you considered a jeep
