hey guys
I have a zook with nt diffs but i want to swap to wt diffs so i can put in air lockers and chromoly axles is there a cheaper way or easier way then swapping hole diffs? can i just swap diff centers to wt diffs so i can fit the lockers and rear side gears for the chromolys? or would the wt center not fit in? just want some general info on the subject and anyone that has done it before maybe give some advise or knowledge.
Thanks :peaceout:

The whole point of going wt is to gain more width and spring clearance for fitting larger tyres... Also chromos and floater kits come as a added bonus...

how much wider is the actual diff housing though? because i can fit the tires now i just want to lock it and make it stronger, if transferring the hole diff is the only way i will do it but just seeing if there is other options

I can make narrow track chromos if you wanna stay narrow track. Then you just throw a 26 spline locker in and away you go

My only reasons to go wide track was for off the shelf cromo axles and to run wheels with no offset or a small positive offset to reduce wear on bearings, kingpins ect..

Width and spring clearance wernt a issue with my 33's

got any photos of the chromos you make? and are they 33 spline and 26 spline inner? would they run 33s just fine?
Would a normal locker or 26 spline side gears fit in a nt diff?

NT rears are already 26 spline and should be plenty strong. I do have plans to do NT floaters though

They are not 33 spline at the CV as I never saw the point. they fit the 25 spline silverback chromo cvs from lowrange.

I am waiting on a set to come back from the heat treaters at the moment.

I'm talking about chromo NT rears?
I'm feeling pretty sceptical about mine lasting with air lockers and 33's
I've got WT chromos in the front already.

Standard rear axles are a lot stronger than you might expect.
I ran 32 simex pedes without a breakage and I drove it like it was stolen.

NT seem to be stronger than WT rear. Not sure why- shouldn't be the case, but it's what I've observed.

our LJ rears seem particularly strong. we put it down to having centred diffs and axles the same length both sides.
