Lately when I start my Vitara, lots of white smoke is coming from the exhaust. So tomorrow I'm going to have a look at it. I will start with the coolant and water levels to see if I have a leak. Then look at the Ignition covers and the spark plugs to look for any oil leaks. Some searching online has found that it could be the Head Gasket. So if anyone knows any useful information please share I can upload a video of a startup if requested. |

Smoke or condensation? |

Could also be valve stem seals. Oil can run down the valves and into the cylinder. Another way to check this is go down a steady hill with a closed throttle, if there is smoke when you open the throttle again it's a good sign it the inlet valve stem seals. |

@ JrZook - lots of white smoke. No apparent condensation. |

Stem Seals. Had it happen on mine after a rebuild a few years ago - for some reason the seals went stiff as a rock and failed. Lucky for me it was under warranty. Just stay on top of the oil usage and put up with it. Its not doing any damage. |
