Hi zookers.. Was wondering if there are any seats that fit into the jimny seat frames without swapping them out. I do a fair bit of km's/day and are looking for more comfortable seats without having to swap out frames and get engineering done. |

Apparently 2013/2014 jimny seats are much more comfortable Bolt right in. |

you will need seat frames to bolt in any aftermarket seat, i'm certain someone has posted links to seat frames from japan or somewhere, maybe aliexpress? ^i find anything he writes hard to believe though... $35-40 to fill a jimny.... For the op... What model do you have? My 2010 seats are quite good. Not luxury, but comfortable all the same, especially compared to a seat from a 99-00 that's been worn out |

I doubt anything would be a direct swap. IMO Best bet would be something from another suzuki. I actually found the seats in my old Jimny to be more comfy than the later model seat. |

jimny_timmy I have an October 2009 Jimny Sierra JB43 I believe. I drive 230km Central Coast to Sydney round trip to work 4 days a week & more comfy seats seem like a small investment worth getting. Zukenutter , was hoping to find out which other model Suzuki's would share the same seat frame size as a Jimny.. |

I think Jimny, Sierra and two door Vitaras may be similar. Maybe a visit to a friendly wrecker, unbolt yours and try some others from his stock. |

I've just driven Newcastle to Sunshine Coast, and found it comfortable enough. Not saying you're wrong, obviously my standards of comfort are different to yours and my previous comment is null and void |

I think it also has something to do with individual size and shape, also what level of comfort you've become accustomed to. |

Its mostly about the lumbar support. The lumbar curve in your lower back is unique to you and a "good" seat for one person might be terrible for another. Before swapping seats try using a one of those memory foam lumbar support cushions. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/1412577 ... e&lpid=107 It will compress into the exact shape of your lower back and provide increased support. The downside of this is that you are forced into a more upright position and thus your core muscles need to be engaged to maintain a better posture (not necessarily a bad thing). The lumbar cushion will result in you sitting slightly further forward in the seat which excludes this option for taller people who have to have the seat positioned all the way back to fit, or anyone with a gut that already presses against the steering wheel. A test drive in a 2014 Jimny may also help you decide whether the seat is a better fit for you. |

Thanks everyone.. I think between all the comments I've been able to establish that the cushion part of the seat and upper back is fine. It is the lower back lumber support that is letting me down a little. I think I'll look into the lumber support cushion for the daily work drive. Maybe a change in posture may help as Im definately a sloucher... |

You could pay a visit to a motor trimmer/upholsterer, get him to add some padding in the lumbar area of the seat |

Bloody good idea zukenutter, can anyone make any recommendations on an auto upholsterer? Its my Jimny's bday coming up, tempted to upholster the front seats in leather in addition to some extra lumbar support! |

Reupholstering would be nice but otherwise the fabric can just be peeled back to insert extra padding. The existing cover would probably have enough stretch enough to pull back over. Same could be done with side bolsters. |

I find the lumbar support in our Jimny seats very underwhelming. On shorter trips they're not too bad, but after 3 or more hours in the driver's seat my back starts seizing up. I looked into upholsterers, considering about 12 years ago I got the driver's seat in my 75 series cruiser fixed up. At that time I got the bottom part of the seat re-sprung and added new foam then I had all new vinyl trimming put on the whole seat for a grand total of about $800. With a rough budget in mind I called 3 upholsterers for quotes for taking the cloth trim off the standard Jimny driver's seat, then adding some extra foam in the lumbar area and re-covering with some thicker cloth trim. It would seam that I got the deal of the century when I did the cruiser seats.  I'll let you call your local upholsterer to see if you can get a price that you think is fair, but the prices I got from my local guys where on par with a brand new Recaro seat. I now use a $10 self inflating camping pillow with the valve undone. I only use it on long drives, but it gives me enough support and does the job just fine for me...

I wouldn't imagine it to be a hard job to do yourself, so long as you have some patience Went searching YouTube for a "how to" and found this. Shows how easy it is to peel the cover up but also cool inflatable lumbar kit |

These look interesting, Joeblow didn't mention what they are out of or what was required to fit them. But given the rest of his Jimny6 build I would assume there is something custom under there.
