Hey guys, Im wondering what your thoughts are on having an air tank behind the front seats? I have it temporarily mounted behind the drivers seat next to my compressor and I like it. Easy to get to, Plum stuff in to ect. Now Ive got a Pressure relief valve on it, A pressure gauge and about to build a blast guard around it so in case of failure it cant make any projectiles of anything. I have no room under the engine bay nor under the Jimny. Thoughts? I do know its illegal to have a pressure vessel in the cab/ pressure lines. The other point worth mentioning is I only have pressure in the tank when stationary anyway.. |

I wouldn't have an issue with the precautions you have. |

Sounds pretty safe to me... I assume you're using a proper pressure tank too, not some home made jobby... Something like an old Scuba tank would be safe as houses given they are rated to thousands of PSI. |

I have an air tank in my cab, it's enclosed, with pressure release valves, and pressure switches connected to the relay, so the compressor won't over fill the tank. I also only use it while stopped, and make sure it's empty before taking off. As others said, I wouldn't have a problem with it. |
