Hey hey. Recently purchased a full suspension replacement 2"lift kit (already had a 2" lift) which is awesome. Sierra has shot up about 5cm as the previous leaf springs were completely shagged. Did the front first, no dramas. Got to the rear and springs went in fine, but the shocks were too short to get over the mounting point at full extension with the car resting they were about 10mm shy.
Was a bit of a head scratcher until I had a look at a few other suzi's on here and worked out that the previous owner must've replaced the mounting bar. These mounting points sit right in the centre about 40mm from each other. Basically the shocks sit on about a 45" angle. The old ones were tough dog adjustable shocks that are 64cm long at full stretch. Mount to mount at resting height is currently 56.5cm (but I guess that'll shorten a touch as the springs start to sag.
Anyway, question is, does anyone know of a suitable replacement shock that's around 64cm that'll fit? I can't seem to find the same tough dog shocks again, or I'd just replace with those. Thanks for any suggestions.
Note - the rear shocks provided in the kit were ultima shocks and they were 57.5cm at full extension (so not quite long enough given you need an extra cm on each end to fit over the mounting bolt)... Also that would leave 0 travel.
