I've been looking at camping lights like these: ![]() But both of these will cost around $150 to get to my door. If I jump on Ebay I can literally find dozens of wide-flood Cree LEDs for $30 to my door. Here's a few: http://www.ebay.com/itm/18W-CREE-LED-Wo ... 5b&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/18W-4-Work-6-Cr ... d8&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/6inch-18W-CREE- ... e2&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/18W-CREE-4INCH- ... 67&vxp=mtr The problem with buying direct from China is the gamble. They simply don't know how to showcase or demonstrate their product - all clips I can find are videos looking directly at the light rather than the throw of light into the environment. I guess what I want to know is should I take a punt on a $30 light or is it really worth spending $150 for piece of mind? Can anyone recommend a particular el-cheapo LED? Only looking for an area light so I can set up camp and cook in the dark. |

I reckon go for the china ones. I bought a LED bar from ebay ($120 opposed to like $500) and it is GREAT! Durable and bright as! I recommend buying of the eBayer, sunyee-au. I got my LED bar in 2 days, and it is really good. Something like this maybe, same seller: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2PCS-27W-FLO ... ff4&_uhb=1 You pay more for the brand name, just because they are no name brands doesn't mean they aren't good. Mind you, you can get bad ones. |

Che I stock most of those sorts, and more than happy for you to come around one night and decide if they are suitable or not. My pick is a 20w 90degree spread work light, super impressive for what it is. |
