Hi Zookers...
Starting to get things back together on the vitara and sprucing things up as i go along.
I pretty much pulled out everything that can be from the engine bay and given it a good coat of Satin Black... Looking Pretty Schmick...
The Brake Booster looks pretty average so I pulled it out for a good clean up and lick of paint.
A few questions... Can someone tell me how to separate the Master Cylinder from the booster. I sort of expected it to come apart with a gentle nudge once all undone but its stuck on there good and proper. Perhaps theres something else i have to undo.
Also when I turned the booster over a feral oily liquid poured out the Vacuum Line ... I thought that the Booster was a Sealed Dry Unit?!? Is there supposed to be something in there or has it been contaminated?
To the best of my knowledge, once you remove the two nuts, the master cylinder should just pull off the booster, and the booster is or should be a dry sealed unit.
Undo the retaining nuts and the master "should" just pull off the booster but corrosion on the studs will often hold it firm. If you aren't in a hurry give it a good soak in wd40/crc/possum piss and try again later OR wiggle it harder.

Well I upgraded to a bigger hammer and gave it a bit more persuasion. It took more than a wiggle a wedge driven under the edge and finally I persuaded the master cylinder to part from the booster.
Still not sure why there was fluid of some feral description in the booster. I suspect that a previous owner had a major engine issue at some stage and managed to get fuel and water into the bacuum lines. I drained it and gave it a good clean up just waiting for the new master cylinder to arrive and time to reassemble.
