Hey guys,

Re-wiring up my switch today for the light bar and my lights just went all fucked up.... My driver side headlight will turn on low beam but it's REALLY dim and orange looking, and it won't go onto high beam. I have my switch wired up through my highbeam, but when I hooked up my test light, no headlights on, no switch connected and touched the black wire (not sure if it's even a earth) at the switch end my light bar would go on :/ Touched the red wire and the test light would just light up as it should. But when I turn my highbeams on and try it won't work :(

No idea what i've done :(

Haven't changed anything :/ I just unplugged it all and installed the new compressor.

Checked all the fuses and they're fine. It's my driver side headlight that the wiring for the light bar is connected too.

I put the test light on the connector that goes onto the headlight bulb and it lights up when it's turned off but when I turn the headlights on it doesn't work :/ And the test light goes dim on one of them.

Probably will buy a pooey once I kill this one :twisted:

sounds like normal suzuki negative switching...

how have you tapped into the highbeam wire, scotch lock? stripped the insulation on the wire back & soldered?

You sure the fuse for that headlight isn't blown? Fuse should be in the fuse box under the bonnet

Sure is, It was done by an auto electrician.

Yeah, the left hand headlight works perfect... Just the right one is messed up :/

And where would they be located ?? :/ Not in the main fuse box in the engine bay or under the steering column?..

should be 2 15amp fuses

Thank you gentlemen, that fuse was cactus. So if you have no fuse or a dead fuse on one of your headlights it'll go dim and orange.

gotta love an easy fix, you had me stumped with these 2 comments hence me asking about how it was tapped into the headlight loom. :?

you must have shorted it out somewhere when messing with the test lamp. :?

I think it was when I was doing the illumination on the rocker switch for the led bar. Still can't figure the stupid thing out. But it's all working now so not keen to blow anything else up...

What do you guys think could be wrong with my interior lights? I believe it comes off the fuse "DOME"? That fuse is fine. How can I check if the door switch is faulty?

pull door switches out and short wire to the body. (earth it out) if light comes on switch is rooted.

So earth it out from where the wire connects to the door switch?

If it was just one switch would the lights still work if you opened a door with a working switch? Because all 5 doors won't turn it on. But the map lights work.

my 99 GV also had a small fuse box tucked up far right side under dash drivers side (prick of a spot)

I had such fun doing spotty's on my car a few months ago and am still running into complications now and then. I ended up just cracking the shits and running them straight off the battery with a switch and barel fuse. Not exactly legal but the NT can be a great place for things like that.

Have you checked/replaced the bulb? You can also check for power at the bulb while you're there, if no power then work back from there
