I want to put a better wireless in my jimmy, how do I pull the dash apart without busting anything? Also do extra speakers fit anywhere?

Take out your ashtray. There's clips behind the fascia so if you work from the bottom and pull out

You'll have to unclip the ciggy socket and the hazards and then there's 4 Phillips screws holding the stereo in

Oh and there's holes behind the front seats where the grill is in the plastic trim for speakers but I'd personally not worry about it. You have to pull the whole lot of the rear trim out, seatbelts etc. and it's only a 4 1/2" hole. Better off custom fitting some 6" or 6x9's IMO

its not that hard to pull off all the rear panels to get to the speaker holes, bit annoying tho. you can fit some 5" speaker there, just before you buy some I recomend you to drive to the store without the panels and try fit some.

if not just cut it to fit some 6", dnt think you'll have problems with that ;)

I dnt know about the new models, but in mine the cabes for the rear speakers where already pre-setup from factory, left on the passenger side rear panel around the wheel arch, like half way

It turns out I was wondering exactly the same thing today so thanks for that answer. I went to a few stores to look at audio systems with Bluetooth. I also did a bit of research on here and it looks like the Jimny radio is not a regular DIN size. It seems that the width is more than the standard double DIN? or at least the facia panel is, not sure about the supports behind. That is why I wanted to pull it apart and take a look.

I found this replacement facia on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/350634385987 ... 1423.l2648 but at $200 I am wondering if this is the only solution. I see that plenty of people have installed after market audio systems. I want to install a single DIN radio and have an extra slot left for other purposes but I don't want it to look too shabby. Is there a not so expensive answer that gives a professional looking outcome?
