Hey guys. Got heaps of movement from the back of the gear box to the tail shaft. Took the car to a mechanic a few months ago for a check over before heading on a trip and they said the backlash was due to fkd uni joints. Climbed under the car the other day and uni's seem fine but I can twist the axle heaps before it stops. Is there a way that I can fix this or is it something that I just let go and get a new gearbox when the time comes? it's a g16 Manual by the way

The movement is in the diff not the gearbox. If its not noisey then I wouldn't worry about

Cool. Only noise is a clunk if I'm rough with my gear changes

Yeah mate, mrs is having a sheplet so would kill me if I wandered off. Might risk it but and go to Adelaide in a couple of weeks to pick a car up. Well as long as the car passes the Atari test anyway

Lol yeah maybe you should change the number plate to dvrc-e before you bring it north of the border. Well I'm on four days off starting sunday next. If your free let me know and we'll have a look at that vitara of yours and give you a hand with the ute if you need.
