Is there much use for Adjustable shocks on a zook like ranchos, is it handy to run them firmer on road and looser on road or just a waste of money

Waste of money...better suited to larger/heavier cars

Everyone I have spoken to about adjustable shocks have said the adjustment mechanisms tend to sieze up rendering the adjustment useless!

They worked good in my pootroll for the first few months, then the seals leaked like everyone else I know that has had tough dog big bore adjustables! I doubt they would be any more than a gimmick on a leaf sprung car...

I run the Koni 80 series under mine which are rebound adjustable. I've only played with them once tho, found a nice setting and left them there. Valved quite nicely too

do the koni's have the gimmicky external adjustments like the rancho's or is it the proper compress & turn set up?

Struts have the adjustment at the top of the piston, shocks are compress and turn.

ahhh sweet, i ran set of old koni struts in my cortina that had the top adjustments but they were an insert in strut that had been hot rodded.

how much & how different in open/closed lengths were they compared to the commodore shocks used in the front of a sierra?
