Hey guys. The first time ive checked my sierra into 4H today and locked the front hubs in. But when i make a turn the wheels start locking up and gets tight/jammed. Now i know what lockers are etc and how diffs work but im unfamiliar with 4wd mode as ive never used it. Any help or ideas/ is this normal when in 4wd mode? cheers in advance! |

Are you fully engaging the hubs? |

ON tar ouch!!! What you are experiencing is wind-up. Not good for any of the drive train! 4x4 is only to be used on low traction surfaces where the tires will slip, not tar! |

geez lucky i didnt break anything. Its just that i have a slight growling noise coming from underneath backing off and on accelerator and thought it might be the rear diff. So i disconnected the rear tail shaft and drove it home on the front diff in 4wd mode. But massive vibration when i done that. so pulled over and slipped the rear shaft back on. No vibration in 4wd. really lucky i didnt stuff anything |

You shouldn't have any vibrations running with the rear shaft out and in 4H. It sounds like you have other problems as well |

Front shaft unis. Probs haven't been used for a while and are stiff/semi seized |

Did you disengage the hubs when you put the rear shaft back in? |

At first I left them engaged. And drove it in 4wd with no vibration |
