no yes no but yes . I have a GV which I fitted FWh's to . And now I have a 97 Vit auto and want to put the hubs on it and sell the GV... See clear as mud.. your right and wrong and right. I picked up a 97 swb soft top with a 2 lt auto and as it spends most of the time running around town I might as well disengage the front axles. The GV cv's were tired and never turned again after putting the FWH on . |

Wont a 97 vitara have auto free wheeling hubs - when they receive drive they lock and you back up slightly to unlock them, you'll be able to hear them click when they lock/unlock. Fitting manual hubs wont make any difference other than they are probably stronger. |

they 2.0l 4cyl vitara (SV420) will have automatic free wheeling hubs, they lock & unlock automatically in about a 1/3-1/2 revolution of the front wheels, unlike the GV that had drive flanges that keep the CV's spinning & the diff is actuated to engage 4wd. ^^ edit too slow. |
