Ive had my swivel hubs rebuilt and this has taken up a fair bit of slack in the steering.
i would assume was caused by shitty king pin bearings.

But there is still more than i would like, is there anything i can do to check what may be worn?
will the rubber pad thingy on the steering shaft anything to do with the amount of free play.

I put up with the shit steering for long enough, its annoying, tiring and just plain unsafe.

Thanks in advance.

How can I check the steering box condition. Rod ends are a it worse for wear but are they replaceable?

The rag joint can cause a heap of play. Get someone to move the steering wheel and look for the bit/bits that have excess movement
