Would it be possible to run a "G" series Vit/Sierra box behind a "M" series motor? I haven't got a either to look at, nor have i ever played with gear boxes, but apart from the piss weak "M" g-boxes, can anyone think of another box that would work behind said motor? |

Not off the shelf. But a vit 5sp or AW4 would be a drastic improvement over the jimny box. Unfortunately you will be pioneering this conversion, as I am yet to see evidence of it having been done. |

Gave Suzistore a call today to see what they thought...they are going to chuck a vit 5spd next to a "M" donk for me to see what needs to done |

Which M- motor do you have? IMO, you'd be better off fitting a J20 with vit 5sp. |

Work out a way to use the Gen3 2dr GV M16a vvt box. They are meant to be long though, Maybe can be shortened somehow. Bit rare also |

None at the moment, but if running the vit 5spd behind one is possible, i will be looking at using either a m16a non-vvt or m18a VVT. I have never been in a J20 powered vit so can't comment on that engine, but i do like the "m" series motor's... May even be a good replacement for the vit 1.6 motor's once they are all fuked??? |

Well a J20 powered vit is marginally better to drive than a G16B powered vit. But with another 25kw, 30+Nm, and lower peaker torque rpm, a J20 in a sierra is a much more exciting prospect. Tanshi's was VERY quick apparently. The M18a (92 kW at 5,500 rpm and 170 N·m at 4,200 rpm) is almost the same output as the J20a ( 97 kW at 6300 rpm and 166 N.m at 2,900 rpm ), but with the added hassle of having to make adaptors. |

Thanks for the info Pete, but much like the vit 1.6's, J20 donks are not easy to find over this way (yet to see one for sale).... They don't come up for sale very often over here either, But I wouldn't say they are hard to find. I'm suprised the M18a is seen as more attainable though |

M15's are cheap as chips, readily available, and make good power out of the box, so you could get it up and running NA, then throw a hairdryer at it later if need be. I'm keen to see how the adaptor works. Also, I spoke to Steve from Killa custom cables, and he reckons he could make a plug and play loom for the M15a, so thats a bonus. |

Should hopefully hear something back from suzistore next week or so about how it will work If i go down the m15 path, i will go non-vvt (no key coding shit) then buy a spare donk to build up and do as you say and chuck a blower on it How much power are the vit 5spd's good for? Wonder how much longer a "M" motor is than a 1.6? |

The AW4 will take 150kw with a decent cooler and correct transfer gearing. As for length, I'm not sure there would be much difference between an M15 and a G16. Maybe 50mm? |

I did read somewhere, that this years or last years swift was running an m16 that had a 100kw and a 6 speed box.... never looked into ratios, and they're probably going to be a fair bit harder to find aswell |

yeah thats what I meant.... Didn't really think about the gearbox side of things, but surely the motor would be usable... I'm only half stupid... I swear :p |

The M16 swift sport motor is not the best option for a 4wd. It makes all its power and touque WAY up in the rev range. An M15 or M18 would be better. |

Was completely unharmed, save for some interior water damage. Went for $4k The bloke who bought it said that he changed all the oils and it ran perfectly. Nobody has been able to confirm if they share the same bellhousing pattern as the J20 though, despite the shared engine prefix. |

Although a road going version would have been re-named. EDIT: Suzuki kizashi turbo. 179kw ( up from 131) http://www.suzuki.com.au/community/news/kizashi-turbo-debuts |
