Have a mate who bought some for his Prado. Really bright and still work a year later. He said he was going to get 4 more for his roof rack soon. For 70$ are you really going to be that dissapointed if they stop working in two years?

I got 6x175 narva,s halogen and 2 x 225 narva 100w HID and 55w HID headlights from eBay and all are fine after 4 months of SERIOUS abuse including at least half a dozen full submergings and for around 10mins whilst winch run out, set up then recovered vehicle. I did switch them off whilst underwater but they worked just fine after resurfacing. I know these are not the $70 buck specials from eBay but all were purchased from eBay including the 2 aftermarket HID kits. The way I see it is ..... For $70 who gives a rats ass if they do flog out???? C'mon it's really o ly a tank of gas and a pack if smokes where talkin about here!
My honest opinion on spotlights/Hid etc .... Don't waste your time just go LED they are the business! My lights are worth around $1k and although they will turn a Roo into ash inside 300m I won't go down this path ever again. This setup lives on my Jimny and my Pajero is next once my roof cargo rack turns up it will be a 40-50" LED lightbar across the top around 16k to 24k lumens and that should do the trick, no messy wiring, no bloody banks of relays, no multiple dash control switches to turn on off lights, no 400kg of extra wiring to run like spaghetti through the car..... I know this isn't what was originally asked but I thought maybe some guys on here might be thinking about running multiple spottie setup.

You can run as many lights as ya want off one relay

Led is good but I reckon ya still need driving lights, bosswoman's GV has the best lights of any car I have driven and I like lights.

Change from $450 for hid high beam, hid driving lights and the light bar

Hey orangeshannon,

If you are in Burwood there is a bloke in Vermont that sells them for $55 (single beam) a set with the slimline Ballasts.

I have no idea if they will hold up in teh water etc but for normal driving lights i recommend them

He also got the high and low beam ones too for not much more

PM me if you want his details

The 200mm Nitestalkers on my Rangie came off my old Rodeo would be 10yrs old now and never had a problem with them. Just recently converted them to HID.

Interested in this thread, looking at 4 x 4" cheap HID's for a roof rack soon.

Post subject:  Re: ebay hid driving lights

I have some ebay hids as my main lights, it would be better if you could get some of the lenses to go inside the sealed headlight though, as on low beam they are spread out a bit and i believe this stops them stop doing that a bit. A lot of people think I'm driving around on high beam :/. They are awesomely bright on low/high beam though wow!, had them for probably a year now with no problems, except trying to hide ballasts in the engine bay. They put out the same light as the 4 medium quality spotlights i have on the roof, so they don't get used much.

So it would be better if you could get head lights that came apart, or had the lenses in them already, I'm not 100% how hard it is to get the head light glass/back apart , as you can buy the lenses separately of ebay also.

So some point down the track I might go back to normal lights + hids for spot lights, just to not annoy as many people. I bought them as my standard ones were terrible (with upgraded loom). I did buy new headlights at the same time as the old ones were pretty dirty inside and cracked from some water driving, so maybe new clean headlights + high powered normal globes with a good loom would be the go. :)

nite stalker spotties are awesome!! i bought the H4 Hi/Low conversion witch i had in that black disco, after awhile the drivers side stoped working, then cam back to like stuck on high beam, they wouldnt even look at it for warranty.

They are lights from Hamas, 20" 120w light bars are $140 and the driving lights are $45 each, freight is very cheap at the moment. Find my thread about buying cheap lights and save cash.
