i have a few short sides here and a long side with a broken cv.... how do i get one off one onto the other? apparentky ya just hit em off.... but i cant get it too work! |

There are a couple of ways to do it.. Be prepared though as it will prob be a waste of time... Most times when you remove the CV it damages the end of the axle where the CV clip locks on and cannot be reused. This is how I do it but with a vise instead of tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0_jL83jMH8 Make sure you tape up the seal seat on the axle so you don't damage it. |

I've found every time I have removed a broken CV from a good looking shaft, that the spline has been damaged when the cv let go. But worth a shot anyway, I use the trick posted above and it works most times. |

cheers boys! got the short side off easy as...had hack the brokin one off with a grinder!!!!! the spline is fine...this broke really weird....broke the spline off in the hub and took the hub with it!.... |

Hilux's don't usually break the end of the shaft, they just snap the lock ring like happened in the video above. |
