Thanks mate. Still have my email? Any of you guys put a 1.3 in a 1 liter using the internal reg alternator? Or changed to an internal reg one on a 1 liter. I cbfed playing with the external reg when I have 5 or so working Sierra alternators laying about. Some info would be sweet

I used a stock 1.3 internal regulated alternator, and bypassed the external reg this way.

My poor hearing makes phones difficult.
Best to communicate in writing.

I had a auto elec rig the regulator bypass for a cash donation to his bar fridge.
Going out now, feel free to ask away, if I can help I will.

Ok. So basically near the battery the loom 'protector' has rubbed raw and eventually worn through to the white with yellow stripe wire off the alternator to battery to fuse box wire. It had burnt through and stopped the alternator charging. It brought up the battery light, as well as the 'brake' brake oil low warning light. I replaced the wire from alternator to battery and battery to fuse box. I replaced all fuses. The alternator is now charging at about 14 volts however I still have the warning lights up.

Looking at diagram supplied the Reb with black stripe is the only thing that connects both lights. They are part of the same circuit. What should I check? Is the external regulator fubar?

Some external regs can stick, especially after a short, or if water gets in etc.
If you fixed all issues,
try a tapping on reg, it may fix it.

I think the main charge wire to battery is a fuseable link.
Not supposed to fit normal wiring.
I found that out 7 years after fitting normal wire to mine
Never had a problem though.

How does one test an external regulator to make sure it's switching to the dash to turn the lights off. When the car runs its charging at 14.1 ish volts at about 2000 rpm.
