No they look like the Extreme Trekkers, centipedes are just standard muddies

Very small side biters, compound is everything though.

GT Radial are usually quite a soft compound. You're right tho, lacking in sidebiters

They're a pede knock of obviously but with a better centre tread design I think. I wonder how they stack up against the silverston for price and quality? Also wondering if they're a bias ply or radial....

They're also making this tyre which looks like a nice copy of the BFG KM2 with better outer lugs http://www.tyres4u.com.au/brandselector ... _show.aspx

Post subject:  Re: ACHILLES DH-MT MUD TERRAIN

They look like a nice tread pattern in the typical old BFG style. The beauty about zooks is that the cheaper tyres that might wear quickly or have less plys for strength actually work well on the light weight car. That price looks pretty good.

They are radial only, the gt's that is. They are relatively soft rubber, not as soft as my silverstone extreme's but they would still be one of the most aggressive radials I have seen that comes in a decent range of sizes.

Has anyone heard of Malatesta tyres in Australia??

They appear to be Italian made remoulds with VERY FAMILIAR tread patterns, but in sizes we don't get in the originals. Can only find pricing in the UK

A few of the Vit boys are running Federals and speak pretty highly of them.

I have been running Fed Couragia's 235/75/15. I have broken beeds a few times and crap gets in the beed at anything under 15 PSI, causing leaks. There sidewall is a little soft.

Overall, I have been really pleased with them. Awesome pattern.

I did find a tyre that I liked and got a quote for delivery to Brisbane. It added $500 and made them no cheaper than purchasing them locally.

Been lookin at getting some more aggressive AT's, or some MT's for my GV... my brothers have been sayin get Coopers, but i have found very mixed reviews about them...
Cooper S/T MAXX 50/50 -
http://www.coopertyres.com.au/index.php ... tyre_id=15

Or, these Goodyear Wranglers, which i really like the look of...
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 70/30 -

Thoughts and opinions, or any suggestions ?

Post subject:  Re: The Tyre Thread......... All your tyre dribble

I have a mate with the old STs on an LC80 and another with a brand new set of MAXXs on a Navara after running the STs and apparently the new ones shit all over the old ones, which both loved. The Nav driver reckons the MAXXs are more agressive than the old STs, despite the 50/50 rating, and are better on road especially in the wet. Neither of them drive particularly full-on tracks so can't comment there.

I know nothing about the goodyears... I ran a set of the older style on the 4Runner years ago and they were good, but they'd be quite different now I reckon.
