Hey just looking at what kind of reduction gears would be required for 30/9.5/15 tyres? would a 1l transfer case still be a realistic option? or would you want more? I don't think I really understand the whole reduction gear thing outside of being told I need them :S

Also, are 30/9.5/15 tyres going to be too big on a sierra with a 2" lift? would a 2" body lift also be required?

I was looking at 235/75/15s originally, but am now considering the slightly larger tyre. Are are kinda an in between size of the 235/75's and the 31s people originally advised me against.

Would love to get some peoples opinions, as I am not very experienced in this area

Cheers :)

2" with 30's would be fine.

4.16 reduction gears have 1ltr high range and 85% low.
I run these with my 31's and they are good! Pretty zippy around town and good in the rough stuff.

EDIT: skimmed a bit through that. Reduction gears give you more control in technical sections as opposed to going full noise holding on and hoping for the best.
As well as giving more torque to keep the car going at slow speeds so you're not slipping the clutch everywhere.

Lack of torque on steep climbs and having to slip the clutch is a big problem for me. 32's and an AT T-case is my next endeavor I think.

Yeah but you're having other problems.

I can sit on 110 without an issue with 31's, 3.9's and 4.16's.

well I'll be rebuilding the engine soon, so she should have plenty of go! not too bad now to be honest, she has come a long way in the last month, but even though she is driving pretty good, she is burning heaps of oil)

So 2" lift, 30" wheels, what offset should I get on the rims? -13 like I had planned for 235/75/15's?
