AZ Crew.

Anyone know the part numbers for both of the uni joints in the rear drive shaft of a SV420 & if they are the same as the SE416?

Found this on the Hardy Spicer pdf catalogue, WTF are staked joints?

VITARA

SWB 1.6L 1988 on K5-A557 K5-A557 FRONT & REAR SHAFT
LWB 1.6L 1991 on K5-A557 K5-A557 FRONT & REAR SHAFT
LWB V6 1995 on STAKED JOINTS VEHICLES HAVE STAKED JOINTS (UNSERVICEABLE WITHOUT SPECIAL TOOLING)REFER HARDY SPICER

staked means they dont have circlips. You actually use a pin punch to distort the metal over the ends to hold it in. (300zx's have the same)

And you will need a dremel to get them out.

But that isnt what you have, yours being a SWB has the K5-A557. Which have plain ends, that take circlips.

so you should be sweet.

Ordered 2 Hardy Spicer Uni Joints, $34 each + $10 for an overnight bag.

Repco don't even have a listing for them. :roll:
