I have searched this topic and got a few results but I'm really after pics of peoples progress while chopping the guards and replating so I know what's involved. Thanks |

If this thread doesnt help (maybe be in good tech soon? ) then your in trouble. Also commonly known as a virtual lift. I Assume it's for your sierra in your signature? There is a good one about for rear gaurds too. Maybe canberraMav's build? I'll keep looking. |

Theres a few posts on here, but check out Damo and JrZook's builds. Both have good write ups on virtual lifts. |

are you trying to not make bush wacker flairs look funny or clear tyres? |

Thanks suziblu. Trying to do both Josh. I'm hoping to open up the guards a bit to make sure my tyres clear and at the same time make the guards a bit closer to the size of the bushwhackers. |

Well I gotta get my old ones off to start with so I can work out how hi I can mount the new ones with the fuel filler as I don't wanna move it as it's a big job. Then I guess I mark where to cut etc and find someone to chop and shut it. |

A Custom panel beater would do it. Theres Kranky kustoms in beresfield. And Kingpin customs in Gateshead. They're just ones I know of, I'm sure there's heaps more. |

there is allot of work in it, like moving bump stops around, flexing, lock to lock, check this check that.... it would take me a weekend to do the front and a weekend to do the rear.... PM for price..... |

why do u need to move bump stops wen chopping the guards. id just chop as much as i can with the flares where they fit best |

well, if i was building a car to wheel for myself, i would take out as much of the bump stop so i could keep it low, if your not worried, then i can just cut out the guard to suit the flairs.... |

height etc of the car isnt going to change, its pretty stable as it is at the moment. but if i can gain more clearance i can shorten my bumpstops and gain more up travel. as it is now i can get more up travel in the rear, but don really need it as it flexes pretty good as is |
