Hey Guys,

I know there have been a few posts for alternator upgrades for various zooks, I can't find stats for the stock SV620 alternator, I have my eye on a Mitsubishi made EF falcon alternator 12V 110A

A) will it fit ?

My first question is B) will this be a big enough upgrade for a 9500 - 12000lb winch in conjuction with some new HID lightforce spotties stereo ect.

And C) is there a better alterator.

I googled the oem part # which is 31400-77E1 and it looks the same if not very similar to the jimny unit, see upgrade here, just check dimensions first.

hmmmmm, Maybe worth a look, I know Tombutt had to replace his Alternator recently so I'll PM and see what he came up with when doing homework. I have a funny feeling it's going to be a tight fit, ( tighter then a girl I once knew )

What size is the alt thats in it from factory?

If its the 2.0 V6 then a 2.5/2.7 V6 alternator should bolt in. They are about 80-95amp from what i can find.

Yeah, its the stocko alternator, (I'm hoping Tombutt can shed some light on the pulling config & for that matter the size of his alternator that he ripped out just to double check) but I'm pretty sure the GV alternators will fit and your correct it's about 80amps. Being a greedy bastard that i am the falcon one that is commonly modded to the sierra's is 110amp :D But its a pain finding the Mitsubishi electrics ones which seems to be my only option going down that line. But if all else fails i'll have to settle for the GV alternator.
