I need to get some aluminium for a manifold. I used to have a metal joint around the corner that I could get scraps from but they've gone I don't want to buy masses of material, for starters I need a piece 10-12mm thick and 100x150 for a flange. Will need some more 5mm and 3mm for the plenum. I'm not in a hurry for this stuff, if that helps. Any ideas? |

That would be the easy way for sure, but not really an option in this case. Unless I draw the whole block, head and manifold so I can get the belt to line up (it's a supercharger manifold). It will be quicker & easier to do it the old fashioned way |

I doubt capral will help ya with offcuts. Hopefully someone who is in Bris that purchases little bits of aluminium will be able to tell me where the "next metal joint" is. |

Capral at Parramatta rd springwood cut plate and billet sheet. They will be your best bet for small offcuts. |

Yeah, I was going to suggest a truck body builder like Hamelex-White or Hockney Alcan and ferret thru their scrap bins, but they don't have branches in Qld! |

I doubt capral will help ya with offcuts. I buy all my alum offcuts from capral here in Adelaide, they sell it pretty cheap and have a front room full of racks of offcuts of all different thicknesses, you just go in and choose your piece. They would probably have a similar setup over that way |
