Why? I thought you only needed forged pistons for high performance, high output motors. Seems like unnecessary spending to me |

do some googling for stuff like Honda G16B, B16 Vitara etc, combos of suzuki and honda, there is a honda engine that uses some form of Vitara piston as a strong low compression alternative for them. you can get them for G13b (GTI Engine) |

The honda bore/stroke is identical, but the gudgeon pin position is different. So the listed compression ratio of a honda piston will not be what you achieve in your g16 engine. Also, the pistons are hardly the weak point and far from the first thing you need to address in a high boost turbo engine. Look first to the conrod end cap bolts and conrods. They're thin as matchsticks. |

Im Definitly interested if someone is going to build a G16B Turbo Motor. I have seen the Honda/Suzuki Combo engine in the Redline GTI Forums. but noones posted up a proper build in AUS |

My understanding of it is that the Honda guys use the Vitara pistons as they are considered to be pretty good. They offer the correct lowered compression for the Honda motor. The Honda pistons are not going to help you in a G16b. You need custom forgies, there isnt anyone that has them on the shelf as far as i could find. Be prepared to pay if you go the custom forgies...........depends on the boost you intend to run. Im using machined standard pistons. I have learned alot from reading oozuks buildup. I suggest you start there. |
