| Post subject: | reccomended low range reduction gears? |
Hi all, my first time posting on this awesome site, i have been involved with suzukis for a long time, driving many on farms i have worked on, and finally took the plunge the other day and bought a 1992 soft top sierra. one of the mods i want to do besides lifting and 31s is reduction gears, does anyone have suggestions as to a good brand to buy, there are kits online at low range offroad in the states that would be quite affordable, has anyone had experience buying from them? any help will be appreciated, thanks |

hey thanks guys, sorry about not mentioning the terrain, i will be driving a wide mixture of terrain, from beaches to mountains, mud etc admittedly there will be no perfect solution but a happy medium would be good |

I have had 6:5's in my Comp Sierra and also 5:14:1. I won't go back ever to 6:5's Only have ever run 31's for the comps I do and I can tell you 5:14:1 eat 6:5's with 31" tyres. The only time I will go to 6:5's is if I want to go 33's |

i run 5.14 and 31s and the gearing is great - i do however also have a 1.6 efi engine.... i think if i was keeping the 1.3 i'd have gone 6.5s to help with power though. |

I have 6.5's and I'm only on 29's... I thought they were spot on, I do plan to go to 31's though which is why I went for the 6.5's. Also, my carby 1.3 is crook so the lower gearing helps it get around! |
