Hey guys, just wondering what is needed if I'm putting a vitara 98 engine into a 94 sierra? Do I need the vitara gear box as well?
And the same question, just ruth a corolla engine, I know that I'd need the box, do o need anything else?
Cheers

Some will say the 1.6l gearbox, some will say the 1.3l is fine.
BenT sells what you need, never used any of his gear personally, rav reviews but.

I had a search for you, I suck at it tho, so cannot find what I was after, but there are a few write ups here on conversions.
There is an involved write up in the teck section, very well done, its a different motor to what you are considering, but it will give you some ideas.
http://auszookers.com/index.php?name=News Its the first one.

Priceless.
Getting hard to find these days, so the jap import ones are pushing up towards $1800-$2K. 2yrs ago I could buy as many as I wanted for $1200 per front cut.

I'd be looking at an RB20DET before an RB30. Still the same physical size issues, but more power and less capacity.
Rear mounted radiator will be your only option though.....

Get a tape measure and size up the RB and box. Then see how it would fit the sierra. My guess is not well at all.
