| Post subject: | Vitara Speedo Cable |
Hi there, The speedo has been playing up the last couple of days. It's been jumping around, clicky and I think this morning it's f'd. It's reading about 5-10km/h less than it normally should. I've tried searching, but I can't find anything specific for the Vitara speedo cable. I tried taking the cluster out last night, but had massive dramas taking the steering wheel off, so I gave up. Any help would be appreciated. |

to get the wheel off there is a screw in teh wheel that you pull out and pull the whole center off undo the nut in the middle, but only loose, dont remove it with a fist at 3 and 9 o'clock, smach crap out of the front face of the wheel, this should shock it off the spline undo nut and slide wheel off though the cluster should come out without it |

you could undo it from the transfer end, slip the inner out and have a look at it and see if its broken anywhere, give it all a spray with silicone spray and stick it back in and see how it goes, pays to have somebody with you to see if it seats in the speedo end when you refit it (spin the inner gearbox end and see if the speedo flickers) though reading low sounds like a prob in the cluster |
