ok so i've driven both on the same spec rims only 2 weeks apart on the same tracks with no weather variations (ie: it still hasnt rained).

BFG KM2:

On-Road - Quiet, corners well, no significant tread wear
Offroad - 10psi, grips rock, shale and gravel very well, a little loose on powdery clay surfaces but gets there in the end.
Mud - haven't had any to try them in.

Kumho KL71:

On-Road - Quiet, corners well, can't comment on tread weat but compound feels similar to KM2.
Offroad - 10psi, grips rock well, although lost traction slightly more than the KM2, shale was fine and gravel i think gripped better than KM2, powdery clay it just owned the KM2. Where i spun all 4 wheels on KM2 the KL71 just bit in and chugged up the hill.
Mud - haven't had any to try them in.

Thus far though i can honesttly say you'd be splitting hairs between the two, and given the KL71 is near enough to $100 a tyre cheaper than the KM2 i think theyre a no brainer.

Will attempt to update this thread as i test the KL71 some more. Once it bloody rains here i will test both in the same mud as well.

I've got the bfg's on my navara, tread wear is atrocious, I only got 25,000km out of them before they were down to the wear bar. Not sure what wear would be like on a lighter car like the zook tho

Great to see a direct comparison. I guess being directional makes the Kumho harder to rotate.

depends how you drive on them too. i've got BFG's under mine, and i've got 25000k's racked up, they still don't even look close to the tread markers.

I would be intrested to know if the KL71's are as puncher resistant at the KM2's

i wonder if they have a thick sidewall

the longer I run my km2's the less impressed I am with them.
granted they are on a 2tonne cororado but they are wearing out so fast its bullshit,
they will be lucky to go 30-35k as useable muddies, they are noisy now as they have heal and toe ed badly and rotation and alignment is not fixing it.

the ones In running are 245 75 16's but its back to bighorns for me for good after this set as Ive tried just about everything now and they are the best overall without a doubt

I fitted bighorns to a v6 ford courier I have the SAME WEEK as I fitted the bfg's to my car , the courier has done 7,000km more than mine and the tread wear is shitloads less and more even on the maxxis
and the price of bfg for what you get is fucking crap.
