Hi everyone, I'm gasman but for no other reason than having vehicles on gas and what would apparently seem to others, an un-natural fasinaction with flatulance.
Hope that clears it up.
I have joined this forum to learn more about Jimnys as I have finally decided that this is what I want. Well all I can afford really, as my wife will be contributing to this purchase.
It seems by the posts that these little beasts overwhelm everyone who comes into contact with them, so I am very keen to experience the feeling as well.
However the single one thing that is urking me is the power, with the air on and loaded with camping gear, I am not looking forward to becoming a speed hump for a semi in the slow lane.
So straight off the bat I need to enhance performance and according to the posts, extractors and a 1.75 " system is the way to go?
Can the ECU be changed?. Anyway, thats it. Oh one last thing, Budget will only stretch to a 98-2000 model with around 150klm. Any thing I should look out for?
Cheers.

Thanks Tintop.
Yeh, there's one advertised in Orange (carsales) with 38klm on it for $8800.
Thats streching the budget and is a long way to go but it looks very clean.
Another on there up Lismore way, with 150klm for $5000 even further to travel to find out it's a bomb!
One was advertised on this site couple of weeks ago and I would have bought that. It had been run into a dam and needed engine swap. Perfect.
Anyway will keep on looking, hopefully a bit closer to home.
Cheers for now

Welcome to az gasman!

Extractors and a 2inch exhaust is the way to go if you are after a bit more power and there is no real great advantage in changing the ecu.

Goodluck!

Thanks Monkey/Tintop.

2" system hey. I was keen for it, but read all the posts and some reckon 2" is too big for back pressure. So now I'm totally confused.

Tintop- I'm sorry, what do you mean "Throw a link up"I read somewhere the administrator was not tolerating this anymore?

Anyway, thanks for the tip on that Jimny.
