You'll probably have more luck just looking it up in the book yourself. Most people that work there these days are about as useful as tits on a snake.

Also to add to Royce it could be an idler pulley that is siezing intermittently. Try squirting a tiny bit of wd40 or similar on the idler bearing (definitley not the belt) whilst the A/C is running.
I had a MQ Patrol with this problem and I tightened the belt but it still played up until the day the belt snapped and I then realized the Idler Pulley was siezed/rusted.

Hi all, when I put my air con on something squeals for a bit like a the sound of a belt slipping but worse (doesn't do it all the time though). If I turn it off and on a few times it seems to stop. Genrally the air is still coming out cold, but does sometimes start to blow warmer air for a bit. Does this sound like the compressor, belt or needs a re-gas ???

I have seen cars with 300000klms still on the factory gas try checkimg the nelt adjustment.. and if that seems good then change the belt

My Lancer has done 260k, 10 years old and never been regassed and is still as cold as fuck so you must be correct. Mick70b do the easy stuff first by doing what Royce said and check belt. Then if it's not that we can go from there.

It is a belt tension problem. Belt will squeel on startup and slip occasionally causing the warm air bursts. Check tension and get back to us.

if your aircon is still working apart from the squeal and a small drop off at times it WILL be the belt slipping. retighten or repace it and enjoy the coolness . It takes a large amount of power to turn a loaded aircon compressor so they tend to slip badly if not under enough tension. does seem that bullshit and bullshit artists seem to be west aussie JIMNY drivers (well some jimny drivers) at the moment

Mine was intermittent and was none of the above problems. Turned out to be an electrical fault. And no it had nothing to do with the sensors. So as with any problem methodically rule out issues as you go. As stated above given you have a belt slipping logically would be the first place to start.

That wash's the grease out, may stop said noise if the is one, but if there isn't, you will shortly need to replace a seized idler..
