Wanting to buy a Sierra.. Good condition Not quite sure what I should be looking for, new to the 4x4 world.. My older brother use to own a really nice 97 model Sierra and says to buy 96-98 models, as they are coil spring.. So what should I be looking for? kms, condition, faults.. etc.. the coil sierra's are good there are still quite a alot of mods that fit the coily but if u want to go into more hard core mods like chrome moly axle's, reduction gears etc u will be alot better of with a leafy |

Don't listen to the haters. Coily's are easy enough to mod. As long as you ae not wanting to run massive tyres and lockers in the front. Transfer case is easily swapped to a leafy case to gain gearing. Coily's run a chain driven case, leafy's aren't. At the end of the day it's your choice, get what you like. Coily's are better looking also!! |

hey Leevers,iv driven 3 different sierras in my time,a narrowtrack leaf, widetrack leaf and coily. gotta say the coily is more comfortable ride but i found that parts for leafys are far easier to come across. comes down to personal opinion, drive both before you decide i think and figure what works better for you. currently driving 93 w/t leafy and love it to bits! |
