hi all just wondering what to do i have a couple of oil leaks aroung head and tappet cover and she is still using shitloads of oil she does smoke a little bit . the motor has only done about 212ks should i get a new motor or just renew the head thanx |

no good steve. price a new reco engine. then price how much a rebuild kit. byt the sounds of it your rings are worn (blowing smoke) and you may only need a rocka cover gasket. but if ya are any good with tools a rebuild is relativly easy. and alot cheaper if you do it your self. |

First of all replace the rocker cover gasket. Degrease entire engine and rinse. Now you can pinpoint any other leaks that may be around. At 212km you engine will be getting a bit tired but shouldn't be smoking excessivly. If all leaks are fixed and she's still chewing oil, it's time to look at new rings. Not too sure about this engine but excess oil usage and smoke could also be leaking valve stem seals? Correct me if I'm wrong please. |

engine flush change to a quality brand of oil FIRST before you throw a few hundred bucks at something that doesn't need doing |
