I'm gonna get myself a basic air compressor for the zook on the next run to SCA - I reckon a $50 job should be more than enough for my needs... but fill me in if i'm wrong. I only need something to bump the pressure back up to road-going PSI after a beach run. Just wondering - looking through 4x4 mags you often see fourbies fitted with massive compressor setups, air tank and all - what's the point of this? |

pump up big tyres quickly, reseat beads, run air tools, keep lockers running if the compressor fails, run air actuated light bars, millions of uses my ARB compressor takes about 20mins to pump up 4 235's to road pressure, any longer than that I would hang myself I reckon |

Is there a bare-minimum litre per minute operation I should be looking at? The sole purpose will be tyre pressure regulation - no air tools or lockers to worry about in my case... not in the near term anyway. Should I steer clear of SCA junk and go for another option? Seen a couple of units but they all seem made by the same company, just with different stickers. |

I got my twin pump projecta for $160, does 4 tires from beach pressures to road pressure in less than 10mins, probably around 2mins per tire, I can live with that (plus it is quicker than my mates arb pump and half the price) |

I use a scuba tank with a 10m air hose and it takes about 10-20 seconds per tyre... Thats the way to go |

I use a boss px07 and a 15 litre tank. It does 4 of my 33" tyres in the time it takes mates to do 1 of theirs. |

I've had the SCA Hurricane air comp for the past couple of years, It's ok, I just don't put it back in the bag after use as it get's a bit hot. The only other thing I don't like about it is with the 6mt coil hose + 4mt battery cable, The overall length is a bit much. An easy fix with a pair of sidecutters though. All these people that say, It takes me 12 seconds to inflate my tyres, After a few hours of doing some tracks, I'd rather have a rest before making my way home. For all 4 tyres, It takes about enough time to make a sandwich, have a drink and a smoke. When your on holiday's or driving, There's no need to be in a rush I think. BTW if you look closely at most of these "cheap" compressors, They all look the same, and have the same specs and all made int he same country. Teh main difference is the price tag. |

my ARB compressor takes about 20mins to pump up 4 235's to road pressure, any longer than that I would hang myself I reckon That's why I drive on 10psi to a servo.. |
