i would go for headers as they give a small benefit to power, torque and
economy all day every day with no maintenance.

I am due to replace the exhaust system on my 2000 G13 Auto Jimny, my thoughts are to use the stock manifold and engine pipe, then fit a new 2" cat and system. i got a set of extractors and a full 2" system on mine (its an m13a) and it was deff worth it. i would deff get extractors if you have the money. |

do the whole system from the engine to the tip in one hit, anything else is pointless. also, 1.75" is better suited to jimny 1300 than a 2" - but 2" would be the max you'd want to fit. |

most people get 2 inch and thats what i was gonna get but if alien and some exhaust experts can convince me other wise then so be it |

exhaust guys i spoke to said 1.5" on standard headers or 1.75" if aftermarket/performance headers. 2" for 1.6l. that and you dont want it to be too loud which attracts attention and stops you hearing what your spotter is saying offroad. |

It may also have to do with the exhaust flow. You don't want there to be too much free flowing exhaust gas. It is meant to have a little pressure behind it. |

Something like that. You want to maintain the maximum gas flow velocity over the working rev range without restriction. Going from 1.75 to 2" the difference will be quite insignificant. Going from stock to a 1.75 or 2" system with high flow cat, muffler and headers will provide you with a noticeable difference in power and power delivery. Dan |
